Life Mantra

A famous quote by Napolean Hill goes like this – Whatever the human mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

Over the years many people have tried applying many such theories into their practical existence and have failed miserably thereby concluding it all as a hoax. Many people think that only visualizing or imagining something they want will lead them directly to it. The process isn’t that simple (Although it is simple for the ones who understand it). Having read a number of books on similar subject matter I have developed some understanding which I believe will be useful to all (Also I have used it in day to day activities).

Let’s start with something simple. Life is meant to be happy. Our purpose in this life is to spread happiness and smiles and we can only do that if we are feeling happy. Once we start feeling happy, everything around us starts responding in the same way. For instance, when you smile at a person don’t you get smile in return? So, start your day with a smile. A little too simple you would say. Well, life is meant to be simple. We make it complicated.

Nuggets on True Love

True Love is not just when you

# keep gazing into each other’s eyes, but also when you keep staring at your lover even though she/he is not noticing.

# hug your lover as soon as you meet, but also when you feel shy in presence of crowd and all you can do is a lame handshake or hold a finger.

# feel jealous because your lover is spending time with a friend, but also when you have blind trust on the faithfulness of the person.

# see your lover smiling, but also when you intentionally act silly to make her/him laugh.

# share soft romantic moments, but also when you do creepy things in order to get gentle rebuking from your better half.

# get angry at your partner because of a mistake committed, but also when you stand right beside her/him even though you know she/he is wrong and later gently convey the flaw.

# keep holding on to a person, but also when you let go.

# express your heart filled desires, but also when you can’t convey your feelings and the grasp of hand or a look into the eyes says it all.

In short, Love is true when Feelings are pure.

Sleep Mantra

Anyone ever slept in a lecture? Were you ever caught sleeping in a lecture? Am sure both happened to almost all of us. Sahil has a particularly interesting incident. So let’s hear it from him.
Characters in order of appearance.
Sahil Surana : Narrator
Prof. N. B. S : Lecturer

As I returned back to University after a heart-warming vacation, I kept the belongings in my hostel room and ran to class. Prof. N.B.S had already started his lecture of nano-cementitious materials. After around twenty minutes of sitting in the awfully boring lecture about strengthening the property of cement by adding nano-fibers, I looked down on my watch to check how many more minutes of suffering were left and was engrossed in admiring the ultra interesting movement of needles. Just then the professor started saying something totally unrelated to the syllabus, “Sahil ji, if you are feeling sleepy then perhaps we should arrange a matrix for you outside?

I was stunned to hear such a thing. I instantly looked up and said “No sir, I was not sleeping, I was just looking at… ”.

Ignoring my reply he continued “Not just me, all other teachers have the same complaint about you.”

“Sir I was not sleeping now”.

Again ignoring me completely he continued, “If you have to sleep don’t come to my class.”

I did not try to speak again, as I was inaudible to him. I think he wanted to say all this for a long time and was not getting an opportunity. So I let the man have his happy seconds.

Well, the Prof was right. I used to sleep in almost all classes. No wait, not ‘almost’, just ‘all’. These copied lectures going on in the same way year after year did not interest me. In the year 2000, the same fiber was used in strengthening cement as it was being used now. Is the technology standing still, is there no improvement even after a decade of ongoing research? Well, since everything the Prof. taught was written in the slides, there was really not much need to pay attention. Moreover, I was an expert in sleeping. Yes, I am. I have slept in every class of my B.Tech 3rd semester curriculum onwards. And I have slept while sitting in the very first bench. If you want me to sleep just bring a professor and ask him to speak on his favorite topic. I can challenge you that I shall sleep within two minutes right on his face. I am not proud of this habit but, well. Hell Yeah! That’s my specialty. Kya kar loge?

Don’t think that I have not tried to get over this habit. I have tried many things like, drinking sips of water, splashing my eyes with water, keeping my legs in motion, both hands and legs in motion, even chewing gum. But you know the interesting thing about human mind (or just mine); after a short while it adjusts itself in the situation and moves on in doing what it was supposed to do, which in my case was sleeping. I soon figured out that it’s a bad thing to remove good habits and the day I understood this great mantra I stopped fighting with my mind. 🙂

Two Birthdays

Do you know anyone having two legitimate birthdays? Isn’t it a strange thing to have two birthdays? Boggles your mind huh! Well, Sahil happened to know two such people.

One was his sweetheart Natasha Singh. At birth, she hardly weighed five hundred grams and doctors told she won’t survive. Thanks to her granny, for taking up the challenge to keep her alive and healthy. Growing up she knew her birthday was on 6th September 1992 and it was not until she reached Xth standard, when she saw her actual birth certificate hidden in one old rusty trunk. There it was printed on bold letters June 5, 1991. In a blink she was a year older.

The other one was his close friend Sneha Panth. While searching the original documents for admission in B.Tech she stumbled upon her birth certificate on which was written December 15, 1995. Her parents had changed her birthday to 25th December 1996 for admission purpose in kindergarten and never mentioned to her. One moment you are 18 years and Bam! The next one makes you 19.

I or anyone who never had this kind of realization in life will never know what a person goes through in such a moment. Is it tears of joy, insane laughter, sigh, anger or your whole life just seems to be a joke?

Anything can happen anytime in Life 🙂

Three simple philosophies which have always helped me march further in life.

  • Everything in life happens for a damn good reason, only if you believe. (Sahil stole it from me)
  • What goes around comes around. In simple words, what you do to others is going to happen with you sooner or later. So simply, be good, do good
  • If something is bothering you right now, then take a pause and think – 10 years down the lane will you remember this particular incident or phase of your life?

If the answer is NO, then why care about something which does not bother you in long term.

If the answer is YES, then will you cry or laugh about it?

If you will cry then cry it all out now so that you don’t have to cry 10 years later.

If you are going to laugh at you stupidity 10 years later then why cry now.

In my experience, the answer is NO most of the time.

Happy Living ♥ Stay Blessed 🙂

One day

One day I will soar high,
One day I will climb the peak,
One day I will leap on clouds,
One day I will….
Till then I shall keep running.
One day I will achieve my dreams,
One day I will shine bright,
One day I will make my parents proud,
One day I will….
Till then I shall keep trying.
One day I will be successful,
One day I will be wealthy,
One day I will be worthwhile,
One day I will be….
Till then I shall keep working.
One day I will be a star,
One day I will be signing autographs,
One day I will be famous,
One day I will be….
Till then I shall keep aiming high.
One day my dreams will come true,
One day my life will be enlightened,
One day my love shall be forever mine,
One day my….
One day, on a day like today everything will be true.
Till then I will keep running, trying, working and aiming high.

Feeling of True Love

Although I’m not an expert to write on this topic but I can share my views which I have understood or felt over the years, in concise words.

True Love is a feeling which cannot be defined or bounded. It’s a pure, soothing and happy feeling which can neither be compared or compromised nor captured or forced. It’s a pure positive energy which always was, is and will be there.

True Love has infinite dimensions. It can never be defined or bounded by any of the scientific laws.

This is all what i have understood till now. Expert opinions are welcome 🙂
