Men too have emotions

It is so damn easy to take a man’s emotion for granted, isn’t it ?

And too just because the male gender has been tagged with overly misunderstood term called ‘macho‘.

Macho means muscular and not emotionless, right !

Well, if men were emotionless then there would hardly be any opposite gender couples in relationship.

Just do me a favour and google ‘men’s emotions taken for granted‘. Not a single post is for men. Everywhere the notion is — it’s the women who are always the victim. Such is not the case always.

Men also have emotions and emotions are not be played with, be it women or men.

Equality comes from treating each others as equals and not categorising one gender as weak and the other as emotionless.

Let’s bid adieu to the old, misunderstood, misused notions and treat each other’s as humans, coz every human is capable of feelings and emotions.

Stop Judging

Sunday Thought

Most of us don’t take a second thought before passing judgement on someone about anything, whether or not we are an expert in that particular arena.

Be it judging a celebrity’s attitude or passing comment on a fellow worker’s appraisal or commenting on a stranger’s attire; we seldom fail to prove ourselves as critic.

There is huge difference between having a healthy discussion with a fellow human and criticising someone we barely know about.

Pretty cheap of us don’t you think!

Let’s stop judging anyone for anything at all. Let’s just start accepting people for who they are without keeping any preconceived notion.

Proven ways to stay calm under stress

1. Breathe

Although breathing is an unconscious activity but paying attention to it when under stress can help you to relax. The next time when a stressful situation overpowers your actions, stop anything that you’re doing for three minutes and do the following three steps:

  • Close your eyes removing all signs of stress from your facial muscles.
  • Take few deep breaths in and out with your belly, meaning your belly should come forward with each inhale and go back in while exhaling.
  • Try to leave out every single thought in this process, just focus on the breathing.

2. Re-Center

At times it becomes hard to concentrate on work because of some other ongoing agenda in mind. Under such situation, try stepping away from what you are doing to re-center your thoughts.

Just get up and go for a walk

Or

Watch outside the window.

Or

Talk to colleague.

Or

Play some game for a while.

Within few minutes your thoughts will be re-aligned to your job at hand.

3. Comedy

Giving yourself a dose of laughter can prove to be a fantastic way to kill the stress.

You can read some memes online, watch some funny videos on youtube (cat, dog, baby or whatever is your preference), read few of the thousands of jokes forwarded on whatsapp, or share some laugh with colleagues.

4. Music

The power of music is phenomenal. Just put on your headphones, start your current favourite track and let it take control of your thoughts. If your aura permits you can even dance.

5. Future

Stop for a moment and ask yourself this 2 questions –

a. The stress under which I am at the moment, 10 years down the lane will this matter to me?

b. 10 years down the lane will I remember being in this situation? If no, then why care now. If yes, then will I be laughing at it or be weeping?

95% of times you won’t remember being in whatever you are at the moment.

These at the most proven ways to stay calm under stress. So the next time you feel anxious, try and pick anyone of these and see yourself relax in seconds.

Have a happy life!

An Idea

The world is moving fast and so is the technology and ideas. I shall be going forth here with the discussion on ‘Thought Training’ but with a different angle.

Let’s start with a background story.

It was the winter of 2011; I was casually strolling down the familiar locality of my maternal uncle’s place with my cousin while discussing about the prospect of starting our own mobile recharge company. We discussed in depth the limitations of the presently available e-commerce companies and deduced 4 major USP’s.

We immediately started working on the details as to how to initiate the process. Roughly a week later our vacations ended and we headed back to our respective universities with a promise to keep up the momentum of kick starting the venture. The pressure of exams, assignments and other curricular activities diverted our focus and as early as six months down the lane one of the online recharge company (who could have been our probable competitors) launched 2 out the 4 USP’s. A year later another company included our 3rd USP and just 2 months ago I saw the current e-commerce giant launch the 4th USP.

What I am trying to say here is – If you have some breakthrough idea; don’t assume that you are the only one coming up with it. Since the ideas are thoughts and thoughts tend to wander around the universe, so anyone who is thinking on the same lines as you is bound to be struck by the same idea (frequency).

Having a breakthrough idea is not sufficient anymore. What’s required is how passionately you are willing to devote yourself to that idea?

Because if you don’t, don’t assume somebody else will also not.

CFL and Tea

A lazy Sunday afternoon

I was sipping tea while sitting peacefully under the fan with a glowing CFL for assistance imagining a conversation for an upcoming story.

I could see the moving reflection of CFL in the tea cup. The more I tried concentrating on the CFL, blurry became the tea and light was all I could see floating in the cup.

I shrugged off my vision and concentrated on the disco-dancing tea. Result was as you can expect. After few seconds I saw only the moving tea and the CFL reflection was too blurry to be noticed.

This is one of the fascinating facts about human mind.

Let’s correlate this teeny tiny observation with real life. Assume the Tea to be a Problem and the CFL to be a Solution (you can mark anyone as positive or negative or whatsoever pleases your imagination).

The more you concentrate on the Problem, all you will see is more of the problem and the Solution will be farther away from your vision.

The sooner you start concentrating on the Solution your problems will be shadowed and pushed into the background and the Solution is all that will prevail.

P.S. – The Tea was absolutely refreshing.

P.P.S. – I have published a post after quite a long time so please be kind to me and share your opinions.
